About Landmannalaugar Iceland

Why we built this site
Search for Landmannalaugar tours and you get nine operators, each convinced their own vehicle is the answer, plus an aggregator listing whale watching in the same breath. None of them tells you that the F-roads open around 20 June, that the two fords sit on F224 right before the campsite, or that no Icelandic rental insurance covers what happens if you get one wrong.
That gap is the site. We list what is bookable, with the operator's own price, rating and review count, and we put the road, the season and the parking rules beside it so the choice makes sense.
How we check the numbers
Prices, ratings and review counts come straight from the operator listings and get re-checked when we update the page. Everything else has a source we can point at:
- Road season and F-road status: the Icelandic Road Administration (Vegagerðin) and umferdin.is
- Parking fees and the reservation window: the Landmannalaugar site and parka.is
- Hut capacity, camping fees and trail data: Ferðafélag Íslands, which runs the hut
- Reviews we quote: the operator's own listing, reproduced as written, with the month they were left
What we are not
We do not run tours, take payments or hold anyone's booking. Every reservation happens on the operator's or booking platform's own site, and they set the price, the inclusions and the cancellation terms. If a departure is cancelled for weather, which happens in the highlands, that is between you and them.
